Kaizer Chiefs have officially unveiled the signing of Venezuela international midfielder Edson Castillo.
Castillo has spoken out for the first time since his unveiling, revealing his ambitions for the club.
The 29-year-old Venezuelan midfielder, who joined Chiefs from Monagas SC in Venezuela, said he is excited to be part of the Soweto giants. He also added that he is determined to help them win trophies.
“I am very happy about the opportunity, and I am also very excited about coming to such a big club. “I had opportunities to go to other clubs,” Castillo told the club’s website.
“But when I heard about the interest from such a big club, I had no doubts about coming here and seeing this welcome. I am very happy. And believe I have made the right decision. I want to win trophies and have a successful time here.”
Castillo, who has six caps for the Venezuela national team, is a versatile midfielder who can play in a number of positions.
“Like the Venezuelan players who have been here before, I want to make my mark while I am with the team.”
Castillo becomes the third Venezuelan player to pull on the iconic Gold & Black jersey. He follows in the footsteps of Jose Torrealba and Leandro Perez.
