Kaizer Chiefs are currently busy with their pre-season preparations for the new football calender year in South Africa, just like any other team, they have been making changes in many departments including the technical team, players and their kit, a couple of players have already been confirmed to have been let go including the likes of Mulomowandau Erick Mathoho who left after his contract was not renewed despite being with the team for 11 straight years
A couple of other players have been released and it has emerged now that they will part ways with the player who finished as the team’s leading goal scorer in the previous campaign, it turns out that the player in question is not in the team’s plan for the 2023/24 season, however, he has reportedly attracted interest from big teams.
Reports emerging suggests that Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana will be leaving Chiefs before the start of the new season, this is after the North African Giants Waydad Athlet Club has reportedly shown interest in the strike who scores 7 goals for Amakhosi last season with five of them being penalties.
“Wydad has now entered the race for his services and thrown a spanner in the works as the lure of the Botola Pro giants could be too hard to refuse for the Burundi star. iDiski Time sources understand Bimenyimana has expressed his interest in joining the club but with interest from Europe and potentially remaining in South Africa, the next few days or hours are crucial to determine where his future lies for the 2023/24 season,” reports suggests.
Caleb was expected to be among those compteting for the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award at the end of the season, however, his scoring Boot seem to have gotten lost somewhere along the road, he stopped scoring and was mostly used as a substitute towards the end of season.
